This morning as I was sitting at my desk I heard the echoes of the geese flying south. As I looked out the window I saw them flying in their typical, efficient V formation in ancipation of fairer weather to come. It is always significant for me to notice the migration of the geese because it means the change either to or from my preferred weather of summertime.
So as I mourn the passing of the beautiful warm weather I am also excited about the fall. It is a season that feels so calming to me. It means hot cups of tea in big mugs, it means blankets, amazing transformations of color in the trees and cuddling! With the addition of Ella to our family this fall I am especially looking forward to that! So I hope everyone takes the time to notice the change of the season and appreciates it because before we know it the winter will be here in full force. But then again, I guess that isn't even so that bad sometimes...okay, yes, it is!!
Not onto my soapbox...
Here's a mushy, current event side note. I really want to encourage those who read this to do something to help those victims of Hurricane Katrina. Our society is so constantly bombarded with images of loss, death and despair (just watching the evening news proves this) that it is easy to become numb to the needs of another human (both nationally and in our day to day lives). In lieu of all the different opinions I have heard of the past couple of days, we should not sit in judgement of the behaviors of those people. I don't think any of us could predict how we would act in a similar situation. It is unimaginable, the despair. Anyway, just try not to focus on or point to fault but try to focus energies on trying to help. Wow..that actually made me sound like a social worker.
I hope everyone is well...thanks for reading!
Let's sit and share a spell. Life travels fast and has us moving fast right along with it...

Hi Meg,
I thought I would miss the change of seasons, but I didn't last year. Moving to Florida doesn't mean hot weather all year long. The winters here are really pretty. Blue skies all the time. Last year we had a few chilly days we wore sweats while the natives here wore winter coats, gloves and hats. Having lived through 3 hurricanes last year two hitting us directly. We know of the devistation they can cause. Fortnatly we only had minor damage to our home. But there are many many others who never recovered from last years hurricanes. They say in Florida after a bad hurricane, if the wind and water didn't kill ya, the snakes and gators will. The devistation in the south is horrifing. Everyone in this nation needs to pull together and help these people. It will take years and years to rebuild. The people in the South are strong and they will overcome this tragedy with the help of others. We need a change in our government and we need it fast. Bush needs to be taken out of office, our troops need to come home. Our government did not act fast enough to get these people to safety. I could go on and on about Bush. As you can tell I don't like him much at all. Well enough of that. Everyone please give whatever you can to the RED CROSS. They are the ones who can do the most for these people right now. LOve ya floie
I'm with ya on that Flossie! I hope you are feeling better...we can't wait to see you this week, we love you!
You didn't, your guys are such goofs. Lotsa love.
